I was told the table was a smoke stand when I purchased it, with a box for tobacco storage and a copper dish for rolling cigarettes or using as an ashtray (#58 is stamped in wood below tray ). This small piece of furniture measures 19"H, 9"D, 17"W.
HOWEVER, unlike most large humidors with a traditional metal lining, the box is made of wood and it does not have a porcelain humidor puck attached to the lid or inside the box. Nor does the box smell like tobacco. On the side of its lid is stamped #57
The box also contains a "T" shaped piece of wood inside, which is cut at an angle along the top of the "T". Scrape marks along the side of "T" and along back of box suggests something, but I do not know what? I do not think it is a pipe or cigar holder.....WHAT IS THE "T" USED FOR ????
Can anybody enlighten me regarding how this smoke stand was used ?
Thanks for your time
