Looking through a glass vase filled with all kinds of jewelry in it at the thrift store and spotted a few pieces in there that I thought was beautiful. Can't go through the jewelry in the vase while in the store because it's all taped up at the top but found many pieces I liked in it. Sold my sister a ring for $5.00 so I ended up paying 45.00 for the vase full of jewelry.
This is one of them.

Floral design- is that Poppy flowers?

looks to be Art Nouveau to me....but if I'm wrong correct me please ;)
The coral looks to be sponge coral but I'm not to positive on that.
In pic#4 I hope it's clear enough to see the edge.
I will definitely wear this brooch!
I've seen the same vases at GW and Savers. Our Salvation puts together plastic bags for fifteen to twenty. This is a beautiful brooch Melaniej maybe even earlier Victorian. I found an oval glass intaglio one in my grab bag a while back. :)

Super find! I confirm sponge coral :-)
The flowers look like narcissus, but leaves are other plant...
Love it!!!
Very nice!! Looks Art Nouveau to me, too. I'm sure you got much more than the $45 price tag in that glass jar. C catches were used mainly between 1850-1910, so it could be anywhere in that period. The older the brooch, the longer the pin.
The hinge can help you date it, too:

Maybe columbine? Beautiful brooch, great buy! :)

the GW's around here don't do the plastic bags anymore :(
all thrown in cheap large glass vases :(
I guess if they had larger jewelry cases they would sort through all of it....who knows.
This was a rare find that day....most of the time it's all junk in those vases. But my eye caught a couple nice pieces in it so I just went with it.

I have asked several times if I could open them up and go through them but they always said NO .
