So, Agram, these are the thimbles I talked about in your previous post.
Three of them are inherited from my grandmother. You can see tehm on the second picture. I m really sorry, I never checked the silvermarks...maybe someone around here wants to enlighten me? ;-)
The big one is a really pretty art deco one...I can imagine my grandmother sitting in a sofa and restoring some clothes from her son or her husband. She was born in 1912 so she must have encountered hard times during her life.
The art nouveau-ish thimble on the third and fourth picture is one I got from my husband/ boyfriend...well he won it in a lot with some other stuff and he didn t really have a purpose for it, so I asked it till he gave in ;-) it has some really nice vermeil details.
The one with the ship is a new one my other brought with her from a trip.
I hope you enjoy them!
They are all beautiful!
The art nouveau one is my fav too :-)
It is quite a collection :-)
These are all very nice and in such excellent condition! Quite valuable too. You say large, but how large? There are child sizes too, so I was just wondering. I imagine since you g-ma used them the others are adult size. Those alone are valuable, tho I'm guessing not for sale. I wish I could remember names right now but I can't. You can google search antique thimbles, you will be quite surprised at what you find.
P.S. add the word silver in the search. Gold ones too. Inside may have some numbers. near the bottom or even at the top.
Thank you all for the love and shareurpassion, thanks for the valuable comment. I looked a bit on internet, and I found a very similar thimble to my art nouveau-ish one. Some prices are nuts! No interest in selling them, but I might just dig a bit deeper into them and look the silvermarks up.
Its dangerous for me though...might just sparkle my interest to a new collection ;-)

Ow this is the link to the sumilar thimble (similar to the one on the third and fourth pic))
Hello, thanks for showing. What a coincidence ! My mother was born on the 2nd April 1912 (1996 died). I like them all especially those with the Vermeil details.
And for you some dear memories.
Very nice!
