I bought this pair because I collect this décor and because I also collect this style of vase/night light holder.
Later I came to value them more for the way the 'feet' are formed. Clear glass is laid around the rim of the base. Then three, equally spaced, 'feet' are pulled down and three decorative shapes are pulled up but, in this case,
twisted through 90 degrees.
One day I noticed that an anonymous vase I'd bought had 'feet' formed in an identical fashion.......to be continued.
Height 18 cm./7 inches
Simply AMAZING !! All of them !!
Thank you so much, antiquer0se :)
I with Rose these sure are gorgeous Sklo ! :)
ooops...I'm..lol
Thanks mikelv.....love the comment! :)
Thanks for the loves, welzebub, Radegunder, nutsabotas, antiquerose, mikelv, VioletOrangr, vetraio, AnnaB and Auro.
I also love the fan shape in the body, tricked up by the waistline frills.
I like to imagine the people making these and the decisions they made on what sort of frill they would do for this one and that one. I can almost visualise them, tools in hand, thinking about it.
Gorgeous! You've been busy with lots of pretties lately!!! Very nice.
I thought about the same thing,Karen :-)How many different feet can you make of a piece of clear glass...Peggy,we're waiting for the next :-)
@ racer.....interesting! Perhaps each craftsmen had to be able to execute the common ones and then specialise in a few of the rarer ones. The first piece of Victorian Welz I promptly sold because the feet were uneven.....
@ shareurpassion.....I'm so pleased you like them as not everyone does!
@ Ivonne.....Not long to wait......I imagine that by now you've realised that this post was a necessary intro to the pink vase posts :)
Such a cool Set! Reminds me of the example I have! It would fit in perfectly!
Hi Shawn, nice to see you back. Liked you comment!
