got at a garage sale--it,s pine --I think hand made & very old--no nails were used, just wooden pegs. it,s 3 ft long x 13" wide.can anyone tell me approx. how old it really is & if it was hand made --also was it for a doll or a real baby? thank you--it rocks
Does't look old to me & the pegs are more of a modern decorative style. Sorry.
Those aren't wooden pegs they are button plugs. You use them to cover holes where you put screws in a countersunk hole.
is it hand made ? the lady told me it was her grandmothers--that was 30 yrs. ago.
Was the lady under 5 yrs. old ? I'm not sure when those plugs started being used, but my guess would be around the 50's (that's not 1850's). I have always used real wood pegs as doing countersinks, screws, & plugs always seemed to be more work than the real thing & not as strong or long lasting.
Agree with others-- I don't see a lot of age.
Probably made/ bought new for the grandmother (30 years ago).

hi--it seems like I got everything wrong.--is the wood pine or is that wrong too? does it look hand made ?thanks for all the input. Agnes
Agree not real old I appreciate you re doing photo's larger :-) I believe it was for a doll not a real baby . Would not seem safe for a real child . Very cute decor piece too !
I notice that at least 1 fake peg on the side rail has absolutely no structural purpose.
There must be screws in the blank holes what type are they phillips or flat ?
hi--i,ll look in those holes when i get home --my eyes aren,t very good anymore so don,t know if i,ll be able to see anything.what about the wood. what kind is it? Agnes
