Old Stoneware Crock Pot, Jug. Found this today in one of my favorite haunts. Could not see leaving this old pot in the antique store for $24.00. So despite my trying to not purchase it here it is. For some reason I have always had a thing for these old pots. To be honest I have no idea at all about any of it, BUT I like it. I believe this is going to become the new home for my favorite cactus. Who knows? Just thought I would share today's treasure. Hope everyone is well.

We have a number of crocks in out collection that have this decoration. It is definitely Western Stoneware. May even be Monmouth by that is a bit of a stretch. I would not us it as a planter. Any idea how many gallons it is? Hope this helps.

Thanks for your comments. I know this is definitely Western Stoneware and was made in Monmouth, IL. It could have been made by a number of other companies the Western Stoneware aquired in the early 1900's. The included Monmouth, Weir, Macomb Stoneware, D. Culbertson Stoneware, Clinton Stoneware, and Fort Dodge Stoneware. See "Monmouth-Western Stoneware, by: Jim Martin & Bette Cooper". Very well written.
