Pacific Electric 655 built in 1924 and known as a Hollywood car. It has been fully restored on the inside and out but is still non operational. It was going to be converted to gas powered vehicle with rubber tires running off the rails.
The Pacific Electric line ran on full gauge railroad tracks in what is called the greater Los Angeles area. They ran all the way to the foot of the mountains where I live with the water train which transported Arrowhead Spring Water.
The last photo is PE 1001 a wooden interurban car built in 1913. It is fully operational. I have ridden in it and it is rather interesting as the car flexes when the track is not perfectly even.
These are are at the Orange Empire Railway Museum in Perris, Ca.
Very cool Fort. Don't get to see these much. Not a lot of these in Canada.
Woah, complete with the trolley car advertising still in place,,,,love it!
In my hometown of San Diego, the trolley had some cars that had a retro look in service, don't know if they still run them, they were very cool. Love this train, would love to ride in it! :)
Thank you kindly Thomas.
Thank you very much Caperkid.
Thank you very much Signaholic. They do some thorough restoration work and have a large machine shop to make parts when needed.
Thank you very much katherinescollections. I lived in El Cajon until 2001. Rode the trolley to TJ once.
