Hi there -- I think the dagger type of thing in the center.... is called a" TRIDENT " ........or also can be known as a " POSEIDON TRIDENT......I think ???

here is a symbol that is something similar. It is called a """Vintage U.S. NAVY TRIDENT SPEAR PATCH INSIGNIA"""

So I do not know -- but maybe Navy....?
That patch is this design exactly!! Thank you! I sent the pic to a Navy higher-up friend of mine and he said "definitely not Navy." But YOU are right lol! It is clearly Navy. It just must be very old so he didn't recognize it.
...LOL....there are a few small differences in the patch pic and yours....and those do make a difference for an ID. Your 2 side things are flat while the link I posted have kinda an arrow on them. So they are NOT exact alike....Close .....but still different!!!
Keep that in mind....LOL
Hi, this is gold, I think it could be a part of fraternity/sorority pin :-)
kyratango, Do you mean gold colored, or real gold? I don't see a gold stamp on it.
Hi! I mean solid gold, even if not stamped :-)
You may take it to your local jeweler to have it tested.
The weight is surely not important, but quality is there ;-)
Thank you :). I see you are right. I did find some other sorority/fraternity pins that look identical except for the trident symbol. One was engraved in the back with initials and a date, just like this one. Wow - thanks so much!
You're very welcome!
This particular symbol may pop out one day, but my (quick) search gave nothing...
