The beautiful rich color in this was must have for me. It is oil on canvas and have a nice velvet trim. The piece is signed Valerio and yet again I have not had any luck finding this artist.

I found similar painting on ebay from the same artist: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vtg-Oil-Painting-Italian-Artist-Valerio-Depicting-Venice-Italy-E-A-RIBA-CO-Inc-/271916505423
Very nice. I hope someone knows about it. I saw a painting yesterday with the same type of back. Maybe someone can date that?
Martina. Thanks.
Dating is simple, is it nailed or stapled to stretch bars?
The artist is Hubert Valerio. Here is a small bio.

Dizzydave, it looks to be stapled to frame. What timeframe would that represent?
After 1960 time period
Think I might have made a mistake. Sorry.
After more research I found this.
"On all of the Hubert V paintings I found the signature is the same. He used small letters; not capitalized as in your painting."
