Recently I acquired this old four sided steel rod. It is marked, Action Craft, manufactured by the Ames Sword Company, Columbus, Ohio. Other marks are W.P. & M.C.I. The cork handle is all together and the eyes and tip look to be original and in very good shape. I found a lot of information about the Ames Sword Company but nothing said about fishing rods. And the name Action Craft I found nothing of fishing rods. If anyone has any information on this old rod I'd love to hear it and I thank you.

Today I found the same rod in the Nevada desert with my metal detector. I didn't find the handle though. Have you found anything out about it? I would love to know how old it is. I'm definately going back to try and find the rest of it. Please feel free to write and let me know anything you find out about it. Thanks

Hi Ron......I've found nothing else on this old rod. I'm sure there are rod experts out there who would know more about this rod. There are times I've asked for information on a particular rod or reel and the expert acts as if I am wasting his or her time. So, I don't bother them anymore.

I have to check for sure but I have a rod quite simular to the one picturerd. This was my first fishing rod I purchase and that was in late 1940s.I just gave my grandson a lot of items but I think I keep this one. Will get back to you in a day or so.
