Ode to the south and love for Mardi Gras. So fun!! It's a school holiday in some parts of the southern coast for those who don't know. I love this from my years in the south. I won it at a silent auction. As far as the artist Michael Miller it was impossible to track down. Haven't researched this in a while but this was just before Hurricane Katrina. Last I read about it everything changed and they no longer did the official posters with the vendors. It could have changed.
Beads!! throw me some beads Mr.!! I still have about 50 lbs of them. Dang shame I'm not crafty.
Happy Mardi Gras ya'll!
Thanks Thomas:)
Awesome! "everywhere else it's just Tuesday" !! (on t-shirts everywhere)
On another post you asked about the hot pin test. For more, go here:

Thanks for the comment and love MFT.
thanks for the loves: Caper, Mike, Vetra, ho2, aura, racer, Trey, Mani and Efe :)
Good bucket list adventure. :)
A little too much for me in New Orleans but the ones along the coast I've been to in Mobile, Fairhope, Gulf Shores and Orange Beach (all in Alabama) are tons of fun!
Yes, OGF, I am very near New Orleans - spent a few carnival seasons there when I was younger; not interested in the madness now LOL. Outside of NOLA, others that are a bit tamer and more family-oriented (and just as fun) would be Lafayette, Mamou, and Houma. Was just noticing the "2005" on the poster, that was the year of Katrina -- Mardi Gras was certainly questionable after that!
MFT, a ton of beads, lol! Did you come by them the usual way? ;)
Great poster, and yes, things did change after Katrina. :(
LOL @ Katherine, no mam not me! Being from this area, beads and trinkets are no big deal to me; some women do get a bit carried away, though LOL.
OGF, very colourful poster, happiness anywhere wall you hang to.
Love it.
Regards
Alan
Thanks for the Loves: SEAN, Katherine, Alan, and nice. :)
Katherine, looks like you were East of the Beast. Hope all was ok. We endured Ivan 10 miles inland the year before. Ever felt concrete vibrate for 4 or 5 hours?
About those beads, dito MFT! Kids parades (mostly) and then kid took the "good ones" when she left for college. I snuck the rest in my dryer when I moved. LOL
Got the poster at a silent auction. Now I'm glad I did.
Thanks everyone. :)
Correction. Sorry MFT and Katherine. Got it switched around.
No worries, OGF! :)
MFT, I've always wondered if I would get "carried away" at Mardi Gras, lol.
One year I did organize a semi- "carry away" on a website for writers, was great fun!
LOL @ katherine! And yes, OGF, we stayed for it (would never stay for another Cat5, that's for sure); we were fine - winds got really crazy and had a lot of branches and tree debris to pick up after but we faired better than most. If I remember correctly, it was month or longer before we had cell phone service restored; land lines were out also, but not as long.
MFT, glad you came out ok, we had a heck of a mess too! I think Katherine and everybody else should go to a Mardi Gras parade at least once. No worries of hurricanes that time of year but EVERYBODY get's "carried away". The enthusiasm is ridiculous at first sight..(hehe, everyone with their grocery bags) until you catch the first string of beads. Then, it's ON! Like collecting, you want more more more. I could go on forever...;) Still very happy to have the poster.
Thanks for the love collect. :)
