chinaheads
(22 items)
This incredibly charming china fairing was made by German porcelain factory Conta & Boehme (who also manufactured some truly stunning china head doll examples). The piece is 3" in height and features a solid base incised with the C&B shield and dagger mark, and the numbers '3373' and '68'. This example is of a nice quality and very heavy.
The piece depicts 3 children, probably siblings, smiling and holding their hands to their stomachs in a gesture of amusement. 'That's funny, very funny, very very funny!' is the amusing caption. This piece dates to around the 1880's/90's.
That's so cute! I also have a fairing piece posted: "The Orphans", made around 1880-1890.
Thanks! I saw your piece, lovely. What marking is on the base of yours?
