    The M6 Binoculars were first made in 1942. The date 192 can be seen on the right binocular. These were military issue in WWII and had an amplification factor of 6. Each lens is adjustable. The US military tended to have top quality equipment made for the troops.
    I believe the Case is called the M17 although I could be mistaken.

      You might have solved a mystery for me fortapache! My dad had a pair that I recall looked just like these, especially the case. He was a WWII vet, but also a hunter/camper/fisherman that bought a lot of his gear from the Army Surplus store in the 1950s, which is where I'd bet he got his. Now I have to go find his bios to compare with your pics!
