I pawed throught a basket of old jewelry this morning - one of my favorite pastimes, lol! I managed to fish out this beautiful necklace plus a few other things. The chain had a HORRIBLE knot in it. I picked at it for an hour with two needles and finally left it to soak in peanut oil for at least an hour. Lo and behold, the knot loosened right up! Yay! The pendant is stamped 585 in 2 places and also has a goldsmith mark on it which I am still trying to decipher. The chain is also stamped 585.
About $3.00.

nuts > I often find gold in the thrift shops and flea markets here. It's surprising how many people have no clue what they sell/give away. My 18K Rolex design ring is a great example of that - FIFTY CENTS!
