Robert Medeu was a tinsmith who started a small bronze art goods factory arount 1897. A few years later, he partnered with Albert Lehmann and they changed the name to Robert Medeu & Co. From 1897 until the business closed in 1913, they ordered vases for mounts and lampshades from Klostermühle, mostly to their own designs*.

This vase, PN 1335/5, was made to fit this particular mount. On the commissioned paper pattern, it is noted: "sechseckig Form" (hexagonal form), Robert Medeu & Co., Berlin, and the decor, "dklgrün m. Silberblätter", or dark green with silver leaves, which goes by another name at the Loetz factory: (Dunkelgrün) Phänomen Genre 1/84. This decor also came in candia and pink colored grounds, with the same broad silver leaf decoration. There are a few examples of these on Loetz.com, but to my knowledge, this is the only example of this decor found on a shape that is documented (published). The iridescence is absolutely electrifying on this piece!

      Hi Robert
I wonder if you would do me a favor and look at my latest post as I believe it might be a very early vote as long as someone else. I certainly would appreciate it thank you
