I always find it odd that most American nickels never had silver in them (some in WW2 did.)
Yet our dimes and quarters did. So too did half dollars and dollars.
At a grand total of 75 cents, this nickel didn't cost me much. Most have LIBERTY almost totally worn away, but you can still make out most on her crown. The dates are also often worn down severely, too.
These had a good run, from 1883 to 1913.
Had NO idea that they ran that long !

I almost bought a US large cent today. I'll wait till I find one under $35 and not terribly worn, though.
That's "inflation" for you !! I prefer to call it by it's more honest name: DEVALUATION OF YOUR DOLLAR.
I'd say its value increased. :P
