I wouldn’t mind at all if I am wrong about this one: I found this pair the other day and found them rather charming. I know that the design goes back over a hundred years and was picked up by different manufactures, including Fenton and others, much later. The pair I found seems to be based on a French design but is rather rough. I also found a very similar one that apparently was made in Portugal. So, I think that I got myself a pair of reproduction or fake ones.
Any comment would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for looking:)

Thanks a lot, Efesgirl. I found some like that on a different site too. Mine seem to be identical in design to those ones, but made of thicker glass. Maybe mine are a copy of a copy?
They could be original, too, since much of what lands in the SA/Goodwill comes from elderly people or someone who inherited something but didn't like it, so bye bye it goes to the shops.
More investigation needed..... :-)
agree with your assessment freiheit on likely Portugal. the design does look very much like the #4595 hand vases of Vallerysthal Portieux in their 1907-08 catalog.
Thanks a lot, TallCakes. I really appreciate you taking the time and having a look!
