I found this bracelet at my local thrift store. It was in a little plastic ziplock bag, in a basket with all the other ziplocked costume jewelry. I was digging through looking for anything that looked well made, then I would look closer for a silver or gold 'mark'. I found this and thought it was very interesting. I brought it to a pawn shop acting like I may want to sell it for scrap gold, and found out the 'pennie weight'. They offerred me $160.00 for it, I said I'd think about it.
I couldn't read any of the markings on the back except for '10k solid gold' and 'S F C 5'. So I went to the drug store and got a 5x magnefier. It took some time and lot's of eyestrain, but I finally figured out where it came from. It was made by Entenmann-Rovin Co. out of Pico Rivera, CA. This company has made badges for the police, security co.'s, secret service, and military since 1888. The pawn shop verified that the chain and the charm are both 10k solid gold. And I went online to figure out weight in grams, and the value of the gold weight. It weighs about 23 grams, and that amount of gold is worth $300.00.
There is nothing on the charm indicating any type of company or branch of the military, but this just doesn't look like a charm you could just find in a glass case at a jewelry store to me. The company that made this also makes and designs jewelry, but all I can find on the web are badges and medals. I have not seen anything that comes close to looking like this.
It's my opinion that it was probably a piece made by Entenmann-Rovin, personally designed by an individual. If that's the case, I hope someone can tell by the markings on the back how old it is.
If anyone has any information about the history of Entenmann-Rovin, and the value of their vintage designs, please respond to this listing. I would love to know anything you can tell me.
    Thanks do much!!!

The design on the front is a clipper ship, much like the Cutty Sark. The view of the vessel is head-on... the blue stones the "water".... the redish stone the "sun". Wasn't sure you knew that or not.
That's about all I can ascertain from the piece. It's cool though.

Hi, if you look at the motif on the front it looks like a ship and a guiding star, so i wondered after some digging if it could relate to this

But i could be totaly wrong!!

I found a bracelet with charm from Entenmann-Rovin Co with almost the same markings. This charm has the same ruby star. The item containing the three blue stones looks kind of like a pyramid with stones down the right side. Same markings on back. Exact round charm shape with what I call the sun rays. Just found it in my familys things and haven't researched it at all. Obviously these came from same place.
Have you found any more info on your bracelet?

Not sure about the details, but my great aunt gave me a whole collection of these little charms with a bunch of different designs and a couple of bracelets to hang them on. A couple of them say "Seaboard Finance" and as far as I understand from what she told me (it was 15 years ago) they were given to her by the place where she worked based on years of service and perhaps accomplishments.

Seaboard Fiance became Avco Financial Services. These charms, bracelets, cuff links, tie pins and more were employee rewards for anniversaries and performance. Charm bracelets and periodic charms were given to employees and/or spouses for anniversaries. Seaboard Finance disappeared (into Avco) in 1970-71. Avco Financial Services was headquarted on Rodeo Dr in New Port Beach. It was consumed by another entity in 1999-2000.
