Pag's triangle is the name of the imprint in the shape of isosceles triangles on the island of Pag, near Novalja. Triangle was discovered by Croatian surveyor Zdenko Grbavac in 9 May 1999 on the hill called Tusto ?elo, during the surveying for the location of the quarry. When measuring soil, Zdenko noted triangular formation on the hill Tusto ?elo, and when he made the measurements he noticed the regularity of the triangle which has the following measures: two pages of 32 meters, one page of 22 meters and also that the rocks inside the triangle are brighter than those outside the triangle.Zdenko published his discovery to the media, which attracted a lot of attention to the public, tourists, curious, scientists and ufologists. The structure of the stones which are in the triangle are different from stone located outside the triangle. According to research of Croatian geologist Stephen Zvonaric, when the stone inside the triangle is exposed to ultraviolet rays it gives red fosforency, which means that the stone inside the triangle has been exposed to extreme temperatures in the past.
interesting erosion patterns here, which appear to manifest on both a micro and a macro level. i'll bet there is some interesting suiseki out there!
