Can anyone tell me anything about this Umbrella stand? My mom bought this in 1975. Made in Italy. Appears to be hand painted with a stamp on the bottom. Thanks

Can't tell you much. The painted numbers on the bottom only refer to the design. There's an impressed name on it, but not possible to read it from looking at the photo.

ah ok, was wondering what the painted number were. I guess I could take off the sticker, but thought that it was neat that it said 1975 on it :) Thanks so much for your help!

Do you see the name imprinted into the pottery? Below the numbers.
If you can decipher that, it's possible to find out who made it.
    5. kaylashouse, 9 years ago
Nope, the only thing that is imprinted is the 'Made in Italy' So I guess it could just be a replica of something. It's really nice quality though

This looks like Monteluce Sgrafitto pottery, although the imprinted mark would be newer. I have a large vase with a similar design from the 1920-30s. Your piece must be larger being an umbrella stand. But look at a 1920s vase online Monteluce 20s Sgrafitto Vase to see similarities.

Oh, do you know where your Mother purchased this piece. Sometimes that can be a clue.

Yes, I think you may be right about the Monteluce/Majolica. It looks very similar to the images I see online. I am pretty sure she bought it at a second hand store back in 75. And yes it is large and heavy. Thanks!
