This iridescent barber's bottle has a beautiful golden papillon decor with a strong raspberry colored iridescence. I am not familiar with the decor, and as several houses made this form, I am not sure at this point who may have made it. I just love the very Nouveau shape of these bottles; it stands 5" tall.

For comparison, the last image shows it next to a what I believe is a Rindskopf oil spot barber's bottle (the oil spotting is on a very dark amethyst glass). You can see the subtle differences in form - the Rindskopf bottle is also made of much thicker and heavier glass.

Interestingly, I once saw a similar vase at auction that still had its original label from a Perfumier in New York; the gold label said "Crescent Perfume Co. Rochester N.Y." While another sticker on the neck read "French Lilac". It is great to know these were used as perfumes, at least in some cases.

Hi Marty, good to know you saw some others with labels, too. I'd have bought the perfume for the bottles, not for the contents! :)

As for being attributed to Kralik, I do believe they made some of these, but also believe that other companies used this shape as well. My oil spot vase is on an amethyst glass, which points to Rindskopf, as Kralik did their oil spot on cobalt glass. It also matches my other Rindskopf oil spot pieces perfectly. I don't recall seeing a papillon decor like my other vase on Kralik, so I am leaving it unattributed, but if I do find a Kralik vase with this finish, then I'll have my answer. :)

I agree Michelle, and also feel that the attribution of all of those bottles to Kralik is not accurate.
