Any idea what this is, or what it is used for?

The stamp says Rochester, New York from what I can make out. It was sold with some old hatches and other wood working tools.

I agree, a planting dibble made by D.R. Barton Company.

could it be a debarker, a tool to remove bark from lumber
    6. blunderbuss2 blunderbuss2, 9 years ago
Sure seems heavy for a dibble & I've seen things mis-ID'd many times. Maybe it's a concidibble ?

Hello jrvin, We have already answered this this one, as a "Planting Dibble", but like many other one time "hit and run posters", they take the cheese, and run like hell, without even the common courtesy of a thank you! Take Care!

Hey Izzie, we get used to it. It's just the way it is. They don't care .

BB2, My advice to you, is let the boo's and dope wear off, before you post! If you would have read the links above sober, maybe you would have seen it is in fact what we said it was/is!

Don't pop an artery Izzie ! What yr. did you lose your sense of humour ?
    11. Hb86922, 9 years ago
Funny chain of post but thank you all for the information. I am content with calling it a Dibble. I appreciate the help

Izzie, you aren't the one who ID'd it. TallCakes did that & you want to grab some undeserved credit. Miserable people make me sad! Sorry!
