The first 3 pictures show the antique "penny candy scoop" I bought on eBay from a seller in WI. a lot of people think this is a "toothpick holder" or a child's mug for a doll.
It must have been kept on a sunny windowsill and the manganese in the glass reacted with the UV rays of the sun. The 4th picture shows a "clear" one from a lady who collects them. This is the normal color. Necco was formed when several small candy companies merged together in 1901.
There must've been a barrel or large glass container with little bead-like candy pellets. The kids would scoop up a mug full--dump them into a paper bag and pay a penny. Necco is still around today.
