My1920s all original Horsman composition doll with human hair oil skin boots & rayon booties &all original outfit. The Laurie Cohen composition doll was my mothers and she then passed it on to my eldest sister who was only allowed to play with under supervision. The big hard dark plastic walker " Jo-anne" was made locally by Barwood toys in Melbourne in 1949 I love her big blue eyes& big teeth and another Melbourne made doll named the Verna doll. One of my Japanese celluloid "baby blue eyes" has lost some of his patina over the years but it does not detract from his display beauty and a Lenci wool felt doll (undergoing some refelting of her arms)and my special 1961 French dolls Bella and Coucou in their boxes.I don't know the maker of the big doll with the knitted beige panties and painted hair but he is made of plaster and hession and two bakelite Ratti olive skin dolls. And my 2 lovely Shirley Temple 13 inch and 18 inch composition dolls made by Ideal in the 1930s and assembled and dressed in Sydney as it was more cost effective for the importer.
nice collection. Is the Lenci signed on her foot or anyplace ?
Hi Manikin,
It is possible she had the Lenci signature on the sole of her foot or it may have been a tag on her original clothing which I don't have unfortunatly.
She does have a metal pin through the lobe of her left ear could this be some remnant of a Lenci button?
I also have the bambi series 111? She is 13 inches and will be under going refelting soon to her arm.
I would have put my other one up but I need to find some suitable clothing first!
