One of the artists I collect is John Severin. The majority of his issues in my collection have war stories as the theme. Westerns, Spanish American, WWII and WWI, iron age, you name it, he drew the conflict in some issue. He draws with incredible detail while remaining cartoonie. Reminds me of Mike Golden art in the marvel title The Nam. These 2 issues were a pleasant surprise when I opened them and discovered the story about Shield drawn by Severin. Great opening panel of an enemy agent perched in a window washers seat above downtown new york(?). Great artist, cool story.
