Diamente brooch and a naughty cat!

Don't ever set up photos near a cat. They lovely wobbly brooch that glistens. The look of hurt when I shouted at her. Now I've had to drop everything and cuddle. She's a sweetheart but very fast and very cheeky.

Ok, a diamente brooch. Difficult to pinpoint the time. The clasp doesnt help because post periods were using a similar type. So it's either Art Deco, I suppose the 50's or the 80's.

Notice the influence from the late 20'30's of the Empire State building and the Chrysler Building. It was very common in this time to make items that showed great architecture, which makes sense, as it's all about design for buildings and jewellery. I'm not saying either that all of the above means it's a 20's item for sure. But just stating what they did in both periods. I bought and gave a lot of diamente jewellery to my daughter who also loves it. This item though was a recent purchase from a dealer who had no idea there was so much to know about them lol...

This brooch is divine. It sits so nicely when you wear it. And the flow of movement makes you want to touch it all the time. Not the joins on the backing that allows the stones to move. These commonly broke very easily, so finding one not broken, bent or missing joins is also amazing, no matter what year. The shine of the diamente is dazzling, they are very good quality.
