I am hoping some-one will be able to date this vintage scarab piece and know what the metal is ?800 silver?there are no markings that I can see the centre of this scarab is carved stone.
I don't think the pin is original to the piece.

Wish I had some Egptian revival pins. I love them.
Super example of Egyptian revival, was the rage after discovery of Tutankhamon's grave in the twenties :-)
These plique a jour enamel marked 800 are generally from Pforzheim, Germany.
The pin and hinge look original, but the roll-over safety clasp is a replacement, they had C clasp :-)
