**Update: Identified by Celiene as: BY. GED. G. LEFTON. Thank you Celiene!!
If anybody comes across a post with this cat please share. I can't find anything on the internet that has this exact cat in a back vase/planter.
    Thanks!!
    Original post:
First look of this at GW I thought this was something a child made and had a chuckle. Then of course I turned it over and Googled it. I found some that are called "head planters" but I still can't find this cat! ;)
She is 4" tall and 6" long.
I cannot make out the whole bottom wording except for Lefton, then B??GFN. I don't know.
There are many Lefton poodles in this style (adorable) but none with a bottom stamp that I can find.
I don't know how old this really is but it looks brand new.
Thanks for looking and any info.
    Happy Friday! :)

Thanks rose. Do you have any idea what the rest of the stamp says?
Anyway, it fits with my crazy cat. :) They are all special and different and I'd have a million of them if I could. :) Real or other. LOL

These are known as sparklers, Roseville was famous for them, you might try them. Cute kitty! :)

Oh Duh, it says Lefton in your OP and on the base!!! Sorry, I was thinking about the eyes, figurines with those eyes are known as sparklers, which naturally led me to think of Roseville. Boy, I was helpful, wasn't I? LOL! Let me take a little look around and see what I can see. :)

This is purrrfect, this item does exactly what it is supposed to do to collectors, it takes us back to 1950's or so and all the way to mid-century bliss.

I couldn't find that hallmark anywhere. I'd say that was strange except that Lefton used so many hallmarks and different hallmarks on different product lines -- I had some vintage Christmas greenery with Lefton foil wraparound tags I'd never seen before! Anyway as to your vase, just by the overall look and the stamp, I'd say 60s, others may have a different opinion. But keep looking, you are sure to find it sooner or later. :)

There are lots and lots of your pink Lefton cats, but none seem to have your hallmark. They do sell for a pretty price.:

Somewhere with the links, I think this is called Spaghetti style. Sorry Rose and Katherine, I was getting into it and can't remember. LOL Thank you again.
Thanks for the loves and nice comments Thomas, Mani, Phil and Efe.
Thanks also for the loves: Mike, Kyra, nuts, Amanda, Caper and aura. :)
Changed the last pic today. Looked like I posted the same one twice. Woopsie.
Also I got this at the Salvation Army store, not GW. They seem to be a little easier on stuff.

      Ged. G. Lefton.

"It is THE Lefton Company. In a few cases the owners name (George Zoltan Lefton) was "lost" in the translation to Japanese I think. Items can be found with incorrect spellings of his name. Some early Lefton was reproduced by Lefton several decades after the original pieces. These repro pieces are basically worthless and of noticeably poorer quality than the earlier originals.

This is Lefton #50209 black fawn planter. It was made in a left and right version (which are mirror images of each other). Lefton called this item a planter in their catalogues. It appears in the catalogues from 1956-1959. Why the 2 holes? Who knows. Many of their planters had these holes. I would not call it a wall pocket since the "unfinished" bottom would show if hung on a wall. Because of the flat bottom I would call it a planter and I think most collectors would also, especially since thats what Lefton called it.

Lefton matte black pieces are relatively unusual. I think most were made by only one (Lefton manufacturer abbreviation YU) of the many Japanese manufacturers Lefton employed to make their wares they sold in the US. The rough textured places (the fawns back) is indicative of a mid to late 1950s age and is often incorrectly called spaghetti (real porcealin spaghetti looks like spaghetti) on ebay. Lefton items with spaghetti look like spaghetti also. Lefton made spaghetti poodles and some early figurines with spaghetti hair.

Lefton sold two other similar matte black planters like this one - with a cat and a dog. I can post a picture from the 1956 catalogue (page 36) if it interests you."
