This beauty is 16" tall and it appears that her cloths are sewed on her, so I am not able to get a good view of the shoulders, but her head, shoulders, arms and legs are porcelain. I lover her velvet dress. From what I found she is a high brow doll because of her hair style, but otherwise is unmarked.
I question when clothes are sewn on if shoulder plate is there or broke . I would un stitch dress and look . It can easily be sewn back .It is not original to her . They never sewed clothes up on true antique clothes they were made like a ladies clothes and would have had hook and eye closure or buttons . The dress could have been made along time ago but if thread looks clean I would say it was off her and possible damage under it . A china collector will want to see shoulder plate .
OK, I got the dress off as far as I could without destroying the dress. If you look at the collar, there is a leather strap all around the neckline, there is break so I cant remove the dress. Having said that I removed the skirt and the bloomers. The body appears to be original. one of her legs is wrapped in black tape and I feel a crack in the leg. I felt the entire shoulder plate and it is smooth and appears to be intact via glue not fabric. The front of the piece has a layer of cotton, I assume to give the doll a chest, but the china is smooth with no rough edges.
You mean there is a crack around her neck ?
No there is a crack around her leg, I didn't feel anything around the neck.
The crack in leg does not really affect her :-) I would love to see a more clear photo of her face . Does have 13 sausage curls in back of head ?
Is that a better picture of her face? I also retook a picture of the back of her head and her body.
Original body on her at least as much as I can see of it . The photo is clearer but not clear enough to see if anything has been done to her . She seems to be ok from what I can see :-) If you decide your selling her at some point you will either have to remove dress or chance her being returned if buyer can't see whole body which is risky .
