I am looking for some information on this quartz movement Mickey Mouse watch - I only saw the one when I bought it fifteen or twenty years ago, and I haven't seen one like it since. I bought it at Disney in Orlando. It says "Disney Diver" on the face below the 12 0'clock position and "330 feet" on the face above the six o'clock position. It features Mickey swimming in scuba gear and has luminescent dial markings and hands. It has a brown leather strap with "Disney" and "Genuine leather Hong Kong" embossed on the strap. The clasp is also embossed "Disney." The back of the watch says "Disney Time Works" in the centre and has 10 ATM water resistant Japan MVMT Disney All Stainless Steel around the circumference. It also has a screw down crown. Any information as to whether or not it is rare or collectible would be appreciated. It also has the orginal tin presentation box, which I've included a photo of, too.

First off, very nice piece, and yes it is collectable. It's a 1993-97 made by Fossil. Have only seen a handful of these particular model, That makes it very desirable along with it being a divers watch. I hate putting a price on anything but this looks to be it pristine condition and you have the box and warranty, Again this is one of only a few I've seen with Mickey as a Skin diver and I've seen alot of Mickey's, And sadly I don't have this one, lol. Hope this answers your question and if you are thinking of getting rid of this , I know somebody that doesn't have one, Best Regards, Kerry

      Thanks so much.

It was the only thing I bought as a souvenir of my visit to Disney, and wore it until I got a Rolex Submariner. It was then carefully packed away in the tin and the tin was placed in the orginial outer cardboard box, complete with Disnet store price tag. There are some cracks in the wrist band leather but I have the battery changed whenever it slows to a stop, which is what got me thinking about it because it was that time again. I really do appreciate the information and if I ever do decide to sell it i will be in touch. Thanks again....oh, by the way, if it was worth millions and I could retire let me know and I'll give you a deal. LOL!

Lol, its worth at least if not more today than you paid for it then, also keep that price tag and anything else asssoc. with it, 20 years from now it will be worth more than the watch itself. Thanks again for sharing your treasure, love it. Kerry

      kerry10456:

one last question: is it better to store it with the battery out or is it better to keep it running and change out the battery when it stops?
    7. kerry10456 kerry10456, 14 years ago
If you plan on keeping this in good working order, I'd change out the battery about once a year, I've gotten older Quartz movements that people have taking the battery out to store and they end up being sluggish and they will lock up for a few seconds(jumping second hand). I might be wrong for saying this, but I'd just change out the battery. Best Regards, Kerry

      Thanks, Kerry

My thought was to keep it running, too, so it's nice to hear it from an expert! Again, thanks for all the info and advice.

      Phil
