I found these earrings today and want to share them with you. The looked really bad: The earring on the left has been cleaned a bit but the one on the right needs still some TLC. I don't want to remove all of the patina because I think that a little bit add some character to the jewelry.

I believe they earrings date back to at least the 1950's. I am reasonably sure that the stones are garnets. I also think that the earrings are European, possibly German or Austrian.

    Thanks for looking:)

      They are very pretty!
I had a sterling ring too bright, it was improved with a little heating above a lighter flame, then let in sun to get oxidised before a gentle wipe with a cloth :-)
Be aware to use pliers to hold it and move while heating to control the heat and not damage the stone!

Another way to add patina to silver is bleach.
