Here's a few more pages from "Gems of Costume Jewelry" by Gabriele Greindl. Yes, bugs can be beautiful and leaves lovely. The necklace is just for it's bling factor as well as the ostentatious orchid. -Mike-

I second that Phil :)... the plates in this book are so well photographed they look like you could just pick them right off the page. Although, the shiny finish makes it hard for me to get a picture without glare and white outs. There's so many more it's hard to choose which to share !

Ha, I thought of kyra too when I saw the thumbnail on the splash page! :)

lol...just for you Kyra :) We all know you too well and how much you love little creepy crawlies. Thanks for the "love" as well Katherine . It's odd that the insects in this book are in the "animal " section. I'm no biologist but it doesn't seem right...lol.

Well I guess they are "animals" according to Wikipedia. :)

Insects (from Latin insectum, a calque of Greek [éntomon], "cut into sections") are a class of invertebrates within the arthropod phylum that have a chitinous exoskeleton, a three-part body (head, thorax and abdomen), three pairs of jointed legs, compound eyes and one pair of antennae. They are among the most diverse groups of "animals" on the planet, including more than a million described species and representing more than half of all known living organisms.[The number of extant species is estimated at between six and ten million and potentially represent over 90% of the differing animal life forms on Earth.
