Small wooden box - geometric design. Intrigued by the copper token on the top which describes "the apparition". I bought this for a couple of pounds at a local 'vintage' shop in Glasgow where many items are dropped off from house clearances. Inside there is a hollowed out box chamber.
Would really like to know more...
The Apparition might well be that of Our Lady of Lourdes. There is only one kneeling figure: Marie-Bernarde "Bernadette" Soubirous (Occitan: Bernadeta Sobirós; 7 January 1844 – 16 April 1879).
Thank you. I have started to read a little history of Bernadette. The bottom part of the 'coin' reads Notre Dame de Lourdes. You are correct.
Me being the good lapsed Catholic girl I am recognized it right away! If you've never seen the movie starring Jennifer Jones, I highly recommend it! Nice souvenir.
