This three images are of my parents', bar which was located in Kingston, PA and closed in 1972. These pictures are most likely fro the late 40s-early 50s era.
That's my Dad tending bar in the first photo, and the other two are of some of his customers enjoying some time out.
WOW a Family Bar ... !!!!
Thank you, officialfuel! I appreciate the love!!!
Hi, V-50…thanks for the love, and for your comment. Yes, we did have a family bar. In those days, there were a number of neighborhood bars where the locals would convene for relaxation and camaraderie...
Like Pubs in Jolly Olde England!
OOH! I love that seal clock in the first pic! Beyond the bartender, there. And Madeline up there is sure concentrating on that shuffleboard shot as her friend Gertrude looks on! Whew - lookins' hard work - Gertrude needed to relax with Henry and have a beer!
very very cool Ted!!
Hi, Celiene, thank for your love and comments on these photos. That clock is from Carstairs Distilling Company, and it promotes "Red Seal Whiskey". I have a few pourers featuring the seal balancing a ball on his nose, but trying to find a clock like that is proving to be quite a challenge! I wish that my parents had not discarded those promotional items, but I suppose that they for so many things over the years, that they had to get rid of most of the items. Some things were not thrown out, and I am happy to have these mementoes.
Yes, that shuffleboard playing can tax the nerves! But as long as fun was had, all was well!
Thanks, again!
