I know nothing about this lamp, only that it has grown on me and has been converted to electric at some point.
It's huge and very heavy and has ornate decoration of a pixie (?) ringing a bell.
I would love to know roughly the age of this lamp if anyone could shed some light on it please.

Our house was built in 1978, we have bought it of our grandparents, who haven't done much for keeping up with the times. our house looks like a time warp from the 1970's. We have the exact same light in our front entrance. my guess would be that it is from the 70's as light fittings haven't been changed in the house as of yet. I will ask Granddad about it when he visits, he has a good memory.

Thank you for that info livinginatimemachine. Thought it was a bit older than that, but perhaps it's just a good reproduction.

We have 3 of these - each one is different but definitely from the same maker. Is it possible to post pictures here, I can show you? All of ours are electric. How nice to see another one!

Thank you greeneyesblue for your comment.
I'm now sure that this was never an oil lamp, but a reproduction electric from the start, but it would still be good to know the rough age.
You can post pictures, but may have to sign up to do so. I'd be interested in seeing your three. Have you any idea on the age of yours please?
