I picked this up at an estate sale in Lafayette, LA. several years ago but have no real idea how old it is. It is an actual alligator tooth carved and painted to represent Ron Guidry in his Yankee's Uniform. It has the name of the alligator hunter, F.P. Ortego, and his license and tag number on the card it is stapled to. Ron's signature on the front appears to be in felt tip pen but on the back of the card it's in ball point pen. Also, on the back is stamped, "Hand Made for you by Calva & Red Ortego" and their PO Box address. The zip is the Oil Center post office. Calva & Red were members of the Lafayette Art Association at one time (found an obit of Calva on the internet). I'm a member now but know of no one who knew them. I have no idea if any more of these exist.
