I inherited this Japanese doll from my grandmother when she passed away several years ago. I know it was bought by my grandfather while he was serving in Occupied Japan during WW2 in the Pacific Theater. The doll is 11 inches tall. The Kimono is made of silk and the face, hands and feet are made of porcelain. Its remained in a case for as long as I've been alive and I’m 37 but I was told by my dad that it was in a case while he was a kid in the 1950's. How do I learn more about it? Its very pretty and in great condition after all of these years, I would like to know exactly what I have. Any answers would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing from someone soon.
The pictures are very low rez, and one is repeated. You said there was a case? Are there any markings or labels on the case? What are the materials used in the clothing? A close up of the face and hands might help with identification, as it's hard to tell if the doll is porcelain or some other material.
