My collection of these Wedgwood napkin rings came about as a matter of minimising storage space. I had started gathering a small amount of Wedgwood porcelain objects and realised there was going to be quite an amount of space required if I kept on gathering and wanted to have all on display. There was also a concern that the pieces had no conformity to them bar the Wedgwood brand. Then one day whilst browsing an antiques store I spotted a small Wild Strawberry design napkin ring hidden amongst other larger pieces. I realised straight up that this was just what I needed - small item, maybe many other designs available, easy to store and display. I do have a few different shapes in napkins rings, but now I am always on the lookout for the octagonal shaped rings. These rings measure 1.75" across by 1.24" high. I have 30 different octagonal designs and have them displayed in a cabinet that seemed made for just them - actually it is a case for golf balls. (Golf balls? who would collect golf balls...hehe). It has been almost ten years since I found that first one and a long time since I found anything new.Would anyone know how many styles may be around?
Very cool display.
