Week End (21 Feb 2016) gone I was out and about and went to visit an old friend who lives in the hills around the Lake District in the UK they show me this old rug, a Proddy Rug(some people call them Rag Rugs I`m sure there will be other local names in different parts of the UK ) as we call them which is made from pieces of rags cut up from old coats jackets skirts pants etc this one measures 5"x6 by 3"x6 ,the pieces were push in a hessian sack has its base on a ,wooden frame ,as a child I can remember having to cut up bits of clothing before I could go out to play for Grandma !! This rug was made as a wedding present in 1930 and it looks as good as it was made in great condition and as lasted well over 80 years, you don`t get like that today !!
