A vintage '60s silver tone Whiting and Davis oval intaglio glass cameo ring. Filigree setting is approximately 1 inch x 7/8 inches and the glass is 6/8 inch x 4/8 inch.

A short extract from their history: The story began in 1876 when three men - William H. Wade, Edward P. Davis and Louis Heckman - shook hands and founded a silversmith company known at the time as Wade, Davis & Co. They opened doors in August of that year and debuted with a collection of sterling silver jewelry and popular designs of the Late Victorian era, including stickpins, bracelets, earrings and bar pins.
In 1880, an office and errand boy by the name of Charles A. Whiting was hired for 9 cents an hour. Within a short ten-year span, he progressed through the ranks, serving as artisan, salesman foreman, and by 1890 was serving as the company representative for the New York office.
In 1892, Charles Whiting wove by hand the first Whiting & Davis handbag, transforming the ancient art of chainmail into an exquisite fabric. The small purse was crafted in plated ring mesh, roughly three inches square and featured a delicate twist closure and a simple leaf motif on the frame.

Gilian, I've not seen all of her stuff, but lot were shown here and barely got nothing positive in her dating or description, surely because such a stubborn can't even believe she's wrong with antique and rare :-/

Thank you kyratango. In future all my posts will be written in code. Seems Baba gets away with all kinds of chicanery, and if we stand up to it, poof it's gone. So have you been to any good flea markets lately? Have you done any kyratising lately?

Never seen such "non willing to learn" person... All your attempts are wasted time and won't convince her the piece isn't deco or antique or rare as the saying tells, you can lead the horse to the water but can't force him to drink :-)
