This should be an aventurine pulled feather but is more "mixed up" than that, looking more like wood grain.
Nevertheless, I think Rindskopf but look to Michelle et al. On the Rindskopf front.
    It is 15cm high.

Hi Ian, I do believe it is Rindskopf, and I also believe it is a hyacinth vase. What a beauty!!

You might enjoy looking at this website; it shows quite a few Bohemian hyacinth vases in decors that many of us may find to be familiar: http://www.kennemerend.nl/bohemia1.html

Not a big fan of the "MARY MCGREGOR" look. Thought Wim's story was interesting about the forcing of the bulb. Explains a lot as to why the shpe is as it is and the height. Never been able to understand why so many of these vases were this height, as we in Western culture love our long stems.
      Beautiful Ian, just stunning....

Anne - I think you mean "Mary Gregory"!? I quite like the cameo-like ones but agree they have a particular look of their own and can imagine them turning a lot of people off. Each to their own, hey? We don't need another avenue of collecting and have to draw the line somewhere!
