And much to my surprise there is a little lantern in there. I have to tell you, it sure looks like an old cookie press my grandmother used to use but obviously I was wrong with this one. Hopefully someone can come along and give you some answers.

The 2 doors overlap ? Not sure at all about age as it doesn't look used. Is that a wire handle behind ?

Yes the doors overlap & yes two wire handles

Share, this may have been made from a cookie press. The dimples & holes in the doors have no function toward holding the doors closed & I think are just for looks. People back "when" didn't waste time on non-functional things like that, I'm guessing this is fairly modern. Somebody just had some things that seemed to fit & an imagination.

This is a travel lamp . Used when you were traveling by horse , train , or stage . A room for the night might not include a lamp . I have several in my lamp collection . Also called a BEETLE lamp because of the doors . Cookies my foot .
