Hi there, I have a beautiful handmade piece but I am not sure what it is or who has made it.
It has a iridescent layer on the outside and a deep ink blue colour when held in the light. It reminds me of the night sky
It has a top which is made of pottery and brass and has a cotton wick
I am hoping someone may be able to tell me what it is used for and who the artist is. Cheers

Thank you Lovely Pat, yes that makes sense that it is an oil lamp.

That is a beautiful piece of glass - that iridescence is not easy to do.
I hope one of the US based glassies here can help with ID.

Thank you racer4four, I found this lovely piece at yard sale and I think it is gorgeous too. I have been searching sites and have found something similar made by someone called Stephen Morris but not sure as yet if is one of his creations.
