When I just saw (on the earrings site of Collectorsweekly) the same pair of earrings in an auction as I have in my collection in a so called demi-parure I was very surprised. Because I gathered this parure years ago I'm of course always very curious of the bidding value. I'll hope to get in this case the aswer very soon at the ending of this auction.
This demi parure is a pair of 19th century ( probably late circa 1880) Continental Europe Silver Gilt and Diamond set Foliate drop earrings and large pendant, which I think it's originally belonging one piece of a larger necklace.
The form of these juwels , I believe, Ivy leaves set with single rough cut diamonds and from the three leaf spray is suspended a fancy mount drop with another rough cut diamond in the centre. The earrings as the pendant are made from solid silver with a gold /gilt backing and Gold wires.
wow cant beleive this it is the same lol. Dont know anything about it i bought it 2 weeksa go from Malta....it would be qutie worth a lot i think because of the diamonds are there are about 9 all together with 1 missing.
Johanna, I find the earrings in the UK and the pendant also from Malta.
oh ok thats brill any idea what it is worth?? i want to sell it biut wouldnt have a clue what it is worth and it is a huge piece. But does need some reapir to the back/...
Hi Johanna,
I remember only the earrings cost me $ 155 and they have each four little diamonds. But take into consideration the the brooch need some repair.
I suggest to ask at least between $ 100-135 for it. But it is always one want to pay for it of course. I'll suggest to sell on eBay.UK the English appreciate such jewels at this moment more than in the US. Good luck!
Thanks for that will probably wait a while and try and get it valued at some point or get it repaired...
