This large painting was given to my mother for my birth!
The artist, Marcel Dudouet, was a dear friend of my parents. Though he painted for a living, he is not renowned...
He lived only a few kilometers of my actual home, and when I moved in, I learnt he killed himself few months before...
He lost his beloved wife and couldn't live without her.
My best friend and neighbour told me she visited a great house, which belonged to a painter...
It was Marcel's house!
She bought it and we are now even more connected!
Thank you for enjoying it, it is very precious to me.
Beautiful painting Kyra :)
What a touching story , I love the painting. Beautiful bouquet field but there is something sad in decay.
Another beautiful piece of art work from Kyra's home. It's a beautiful story, and even better because it's true. Love it.
Ooh, friends! I'm so touched by your comments...
Marga, it is a sort of "memento mori", and something as beauty will fade too, hidden in so colorful and realistic painting...
Lisa and Gilian, can't thank you enough for your beautiful, warm comments.
XOXO all :-)
A sad but great story, the vase in the painting looks so real, beautiful !~
Love it!
For me, stories of suicide hit home in many ways.
Beautiful painting! Thank you for sharing!
Phil, Vintagelamp, Don, I'm so glad you love my birth present painting :-) Thanks! !!
SpiritBear, homes, except if absolutely new, have always been theater of deaths, suicides... old items belonged to deceased persons... we are surrounded by all these things! It is the feeling you have with which imports :-)
My friend and her family, knowing Marcel committed suicide to join his beloved wife consider that fact as proof of deep love, and aren't affect at all by their now home spirit :-)
Amazing painting and sad story behind it. Nice that you honor his beautiful work.
