I found this sewing machine while doing some much needed spring cleaning in my grandmothers garage. It needs a good spit polish but is still in working condition, although the original belt broke, it just needs a new belt run from foot presser to top of machine. We could even maybe use a rope of sorts or something. I was very excited to find a picture of this machine that dates this machine back to about 1900 unforunatetly the website would not let me copy and paste it to my computer system. But i now know it is atleast 111years old! That is pretty exciting! I'd love to get more info on it if possiable.

You can still buy treadle belts - look on eBay. The machine will have a serial number and you may be able to get a year of manufacture. Can you find any numbers? It might be under the bobbin covers or on the stitch length plate (lower right).
