Have had this in my shed for about 20 years. Back in the early 1990's my grandfather gave it to me. Says in spanish on the other side made in torledo in 1863... He bought it in Germany for $2.00 during the war. Any information about this or a place to look would be great. Have not found much online with as much detail as this. There are two areas where it looks like there were name plates, a shield where there is a Knight, and on the handle too. There is a touch of gold on the knight. Thanks for any information you may have.
Looks like a ceremonial sword that was be used be a fraternal order such as the Knights of Columbus.
Nearly lost my eyes to read on Pic#3 :
"Los gefes y oficiales del 5° tercio de la G.C."
Guardia civile?
Civil Guard.... Knights of Columbus... Ill check into both, thank you. Kyratango, yes that is exactly what it says... Thanks
