This pocket watch chain was manufactured in Birmingham, England,
in 1913. The Chain is Sterling Silver. As you can see in the pictures it is very well made and Hallmarked. Every link of this chain is Hallmarked with the Lion Passant, Hallmark meaning Sterling Silver.
The O in a box Hallmark is code for the year of 1913. The H.P. Hallmark is the makers mark of HENRY POPE, Birmingham, England, circa 1890s.
The chain and Fob Shield are Hallmarked with the Birmingham, England, Anchor Hallmark. The Fob Shield is also Hallmarked with the Lion Passant.
The Fob Shield is also Hallmarked with the O in a box.
The Fob Shield makers hallmark is D.G.C . I have not been able to find any information about the D.G.C Hallmark. The weight of the chain is 57.o grams.
The Sterling Silver Coin is Edward, VII the King of the United Kingdom 1901 to 1910. The Coin is 3 Pence, year 1905, Sterling Silver 0.9250 weight 1.4138 grams, [ 3 Pence = $0.04] In 2016. I would think in 1905 the money value was a lot more than four cents..
