Two vases and a biscuit barrel with the same pattern from the late 1800s. It features purple and pink peony style flowers with gold decoration on cream background.
My favourite design period is the late 19th and the early 20th century when the Fieldings' pottery produced a wide variety of ornamental wares in dozens of different patterns and shapes. The so-called Royal patterns are their better designs and they were marked usually with lion on crown back stamp.
These are perfectly pretty in every way Martika. I really love the way the secondary flowers fill the ground without being busy and distracting your eye from the main motif.
Can you imagine how gorgeous the biscuits would have to be to be put in the barrel.
Racer4four, you are so good with the words, much better than me. English isn't my first language, so my vocabulary seems to bit limited compared to you and others. And about the biscuit barrel - it is in very good condition, I think it never been used, but only for decoration. Thank you all for your love
I have the 11" very decorative plate/tray that matches this set. Certainly reflects another era.
Thank you for your comment, LoupGarou! If you have got mood and time, you can post it on CW! I would be pleased to see it!!!
