it looks very old - it had a white painted outline around the eye to the mouth that is almost gone. The paint itself is strange - glossy with almost shell like qualities.
It is made of a soft wood that has a orange to reddish tone, and there are areas of oxidized blackish stains inside from being held and/or worn.
I think it's quite beautiful, but I cannot even place on a continent let alone in a specific era or tribe - any help is greatly appreciated!
